Ukraine will buy them as training boats waiting for the war with Russia is over, Ukraine will order 6 Pelagic submarines for its Black Sea fleet. All subs bought by Russia as reparations ha ha look at that 9 subs coming to Ukraine.

The more I hear from this guy, the less impressed, zero understanding of the strategic situation. US and Trump has made an enemy from a friend. Don't try to change the history. It was Obama that decided to "Pivot to Asia"

Dumb analysis. If you didn't embrace China, US would have lost the cold war against a USSR-China alliance. As if we did it for not reason, stupid.

LPH-6111 and LPH-6112 are similar but not the same. The fact that the equipment is so different means that LPH-6111 was not the kind of ship the Navy was expecting. If you research it, you will find out. In the KOR domestic press, LPH-6111 is mocked as an "event ship".

The RCN has never been in a weaker state at it is right now. Littoral fleet: about 26 vessels, heaviest armaments; Six 25 mil pop guns. Seemingly the backbone of its self defence, each vessel two WW2 machine guns in open air pedastals as if in Pearl Harbor 1941. Four dangerous to thier crew submarines. Eight Orca vessels west coast, zero deck armament. 12 Kingston vessels whom in 2014 they removed its 40mm Bofors, yet replaced with nothing. Twelve over worked aging frigates, our blue water navy. So for strictly 202, 000 kms coastline defence: zero missiles, zero torpedoes zero depth charges, zero 20mm CIWS. Pathetic joke of NATO. This would be funny if not the subject of defence of our realm.

Yet another vain General trying to cash in on his career...and redeem himself for military failures. The book is stale with nothing new beyond lots hubris and "I" did this or "I" led...he forgets that there are another 1.4 million US military service members. McKenzie is a slick silver tongue. At the end of the day, like many other generals, he was at the losing end of conflicts. He was responsible for the greatest military debacle in modern history...Kabul Withdrawal. He is now trying to smooth talk his way out of it and redeem himself so he can make big $$$. He is quick to point his finger at Trump and Biden when he should have resigned...rather than sacrificed our son's and daughter's in Kabul...but courage becomes a scarce commodity the higher up in rank. If McKenzie is now writing memoirs maybe he can also tell us about the CAR and BS in Afghanistan. Without a doubt we have the best troops in our military....However. Lions led by Sheep is a losing proposition.

Put armor on a main battle tank and it is a great idea... Take the same armor and put it on a warship and it magically becomes a bad idea... Oh well. If I was meant to understand it I would be the one crafting things instead of the one buying things.

The saying that Americans can always be trusted is the best joke I've ever heard. If we look at the treaties and agreements that the USA has signed over the past 30 years, it has violated or unilaterally terminated most of them. That says something. So I am inclined to the opinion that the American government cannot be trusted.

This was an amazing interview with Ed Offlley. I have read his fascinating book "The Burning Shores" about Operation Paukenschlag and the poor US response to the U Boat offensive off the shores of the US. Interestingly enough, the ship on which my grandfather would serve aboard, PC-564 after D Day, was present during the Omaha landings. As part of Task Force 124, she participated as a "Control Vessel" escorting some LCT(R) Rocket firing Landing Craft as part of the 20th wave off easy red beach. She then was assigned an ASW/AA/Anti-E Boat Screen vessel on the "Dixie Line" until the 27th of June, 1944 as part of CTG 122.4 Under DESRON 18. She was also present off the port of Cherbourg on 24 December, 1944 when the Leopoldville was torpedoed and helped to rescue 13 of the survivors that night along with the 30 odd other small vessels from the port that arrived after the attack. My grandfather helped to rescue some of the surviving soldiers as he was a good swimmer. Sadly Ed's Great Uncle was not one of them. Later she was badly damaged in a fight with 3 German Artillery Prams during the Granville Raid of 9 March, 1945. This was where he lost his life. There were a total of twelve PCs, all metal Subchasers in his flotilla that participated on D Day and until the end of the war in the ETO. These types of vessels served in all the theaters of the war. There were about 361 of the PCs built during WW2. They were part of the "Donald Duck" Navy as they were referred to by their crews.

Thats one of the best of the destroyers aka Frigates they just need a diferent type of armament that includes land attack capability and long range weapons like heavy Rocket artillery system with 254mm rockets that can reach 200km or more and the use of the Vulcano amunnition in that 5'inch gun but a new naval gun with a 160mm bore is what is needed in naval warfare with a 50kg projectile to 55kg and a good range of 40km RAP ammo, but Rocket artillery is the future in naval warships heavy rockets in the 320mm and a range of 300 to 320km with a 300kg warhead to strike with accuracy targets on land or a lighter 254mm 125kg warhead, and Europe will be the ones that will have or be forced by their people because enough its enough its like Japan now a peaceful country but surrounded by enemies great investments in defense and develop home grown thecnology and nationalized key military industrial complex capacity for true capabilities to fight the future enemies that are rearming and developing a great range of weapons
